Charlie began practicing yoga in her early 20s, alongside studying and experiencing various methods of healing including sound therapy, crystal therapy and soul rescue/shamanic healing. She began teaching in 2011 after journeying to Northern India completing her initial training with Sivananda Yoga Vedanta in traditional hatha yoga. As her yoga practice evolved along with her knowledge and experience as a crystal and sound healer, she became more and more aware of how yoga and healing practices were interconnected and interrelated, a combined practice becoming a fundamental part of her own healing journey as well as empowering others through healing and yoga. She furthered her knowledge of yoga and meditation as she to qualified to teach Yin yoga, Restorative yoga and Yoga for Children and Teens.
As a size 14 yoga body, it’s been important for Charlie to enable and inspire her students to find their own expression of the postures while working safely within their unique body. She is passionate that yoga is for everybody, and so ensures all her classes are inclusive and motivating for all shapes & ages.
Charlie predominantly teaches Yin, Hatha-Flow (integrative classical hatha yoga postures with breath initiated flow movements), and Dynamic Asana. She runs 3 hour Maha Sadhana monthly practices with sound baths which include the integral aspects of yoga breathing (pranayama), mantra, meditation and asana in addition to running regular Gong Baths, after she completed her Gong training with World renowned Gong Masters Don Conrieux and Aidan MacIntyre.
Charlie originally trained as a musician, attaining a Bachelor of Music 2004 and recently completed her Masters in Music Therapy from Roehampton University.
